The cost of energy to heat, cool, and light buildings is skyrocketing. An Energy Audit by HEA is the most cost-effective way to define exactly how your energy is being used, where it is used effectively or wasted, and the full range of opportunities you have to take action to reduce your costs. HEA surveys and documents your building’s energy usage through a precise, hands-on, and systematic process. We prepare a detailed Energy Profile of your heating, cooling, lighting and water usage systems, and all other equipment that significantly affects your energy consumption. A wide variety of factors, from past usage and maintenance practices to weather data, can be incorporated to provide you with a clear and complete picture, along with descriptive narratives to ensure that all the data is easy to understand. HEA follows the ASHRAE Handbook - HVAC Applications guidelines for performing energy audits. Air & Water Balancing HEA provides TAB services for our clients on numerous systems. The systems are only as good as the devices that support them. HEA's testing program is a detailed thorough process. Upon the completion of the test, if a minor calibration is needed HEA staff will perform the adjusting on the spot. The distribution of the energy that is being produced needs to be precisely balanced in accordance to design and occupancy needs. National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) has certified that HEA is a firm capable of performing this service to their standards and qualifications. Our services encompass all of the methods, means and manpower you need to enhance your operations, including on-site facilities management, consulting programs, and a suite of information products and services to properly document your equipment infrastructure. Equipment Testing • Steam trap • Air survey • Performance testing - Air handlers - Boilers - Chillers - Pumps HEA evaluates the performance of equipment associated with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems and compares to the building usage requirements and design parameters. Using state-of-the-art calibrated instruments, testing is conducted on equipment such as boilers, air handlers, chillers, generators, steam traps, cooling towers and pumps. A report is then provided that details recommendations for proper equipment operation and maintenance. Our findings often reduce energy usage, enhance building performance, bring the building up to code, and minimize complaints associated with ventilation (temperature, humidity, noise and airflow). MEP Design With a number of licensed professional engineers on staff, HEA goes beyond the general engineering approach that many companies offer during the design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. By understanding how the construction process is implemented to how a building will be operated, utilized and maintained we are able to design systems that the owner will be able to use once the project is completed.
