Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager
New York, NY

The Senior Engineer will directly be responsible to meet target billable hours as defined by annual operating plan and Director of Engineering. In addition, the individual will focus on providing technical oversight and support to all team within the region.   

In detail, responsibilities are the following:

Essential Functions:

  • Engineering Mentorship / Leadership
    • Provide leadership and support, as assigned, to support the growth and development of other engineering staff members.
    • Participate in company training and safety initiatives.
  • Client Maintenance / Quality Assurance
    • Involved in high-level client maintenance to provide assurance to all existing clients that the quality of the services delivered are closely examined and under scrutiny. 
    • Working with executive management, directors, team leaders/engineering managers to develop and ensure standards are developed and maintained, specifically in the areas of quality assurance and training.
  • Revenue Generating Activities
    • Support company revenue targets by leading or supporting existing projects as assigned.
    • Project assignments will be based on areas of expertise, relationship with the client and other strategic client initiatives.
    • Must be capable of billing 390 hours a quarter
  • Business Development
    • Support company sales initiatives as requested by the Director of Engineering
    • Lead and / or participate in client and educational presentations, trade shows, etc.
    • Support business plan by initiating and developing new relationships with strategic clients and / or in strategic markets or market sectors.
  • Any special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Masters degree
  • 10+ years Engineering Experience
  • P.E., LEED AP, or CCP a plus
  • Proven track record and excellent customer relation skills
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Excellent coach and mentor skills
  • Strong financial and analytical skills

Project Engineer
New York, NY; Boston, MA; St. Louis, MO

A Project Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of multiple projects and resources.  Responsibilities include the design, construction, operations and maintenance or commissioning of over 100,000 square feet of projects.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for managing, scheduling and budgeting assigned projects.
  • Provide weekly task lists to engineering manager for inclusion in weekly work plan.
  • Capable of executing and managing tasks within time budgeted 
  • Maintain relations with existing clients on assigned projects.
  • Support the engineering manager in the training and mentoring of team members on proper documentation development, field procedures and equipment usage.
  • Support other project engineers and senior project engineers as required to maintain full utilization.
  • Any special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in engineering or construction/maintenance related experience with a 2 year engineering technology degree
  • At least 3 years experience working with absorbers, chillers, boilers, air ventilation balancing systems and other optimization technique
  • EIT or CEM certification preferred
  • LEED AP required
  • Hands-on-experience of HVAC and/or electrical systems
  • Trade association participation a plus
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting at least 30 pounds and climbing ladders
  • Ability to travel

Project Engineer (Data Center)
New York, NY

A Project Engineer is responsible for the planning and the execution of multiple projects and resources. Responsibilities include overviewing the design, construction, acceptance, and post acceptance phase in the maintenance of commissioning on over 100,000 square feet of projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for managing, scheduling and budgeting assigned projects.
  • Provide weekly task lists to engineering manager for inclusion in weekly work plan.
  • Capable of executing and managing tasks within time budgeted
  • Maintain relations with existing clients on assigned projects.
  • Support the engineering manager in the training and mentoring of team members on proper documentation development, field procedures and equipment usage.
  • Support other project engineers and senior project engineers as required to maintain full utilization.
  • Any special projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3-5 years of experience in engineering or construction/maintenance related experience
  • Must have at least 2 years experience with data centers
  • Hands-on-experience with mechanical systems preferred

Field Engineer
New York, NY; Upstate, NY; Boston, MA; Baltimore, MD

A Field Engineer is responsible for the delivery and execution of our professional services tasks. The qualified candidate must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and at least 1 year of professional experience employed in a staff or intern position in the construction industry. The applicant must have general knowledge of most of the following topics: steam management and distribution systems, pumps, fans, motors, fluid dynamics, heat absorbers, chillers, boilers, air ventilation balancing systems, VAV, Fan Design and other optimization techniques. This candidate must be working for their EIT in the near future and any other Certification that comes with the gaining experience. Trade association participation a plus.

Senior Project Engineer
St. Louis, MO; Detroit, MI

Building Envelope Field Engineer
New York, NY

A Building Enclosure Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of multiple projects and resources. Responsibilities include consulting, testing, and commissioning of building enclosure systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for managing, scheduling and budgeting assigned projects.
  • Provide weekly task lists to engineering manager for inclusion in weekly work plan.
  • Ensure completion of tasks that are conducted or managed are done within budgeted allotments
  • Maintain relations with existing clients on assigned projects.
  • Support the engineering manager in the training and mentoring of team members on proper documentation development, field procedures and equipment usage.
  • Support the development of company standards relating to enclosure consulting and commissioning.
  • Support as required, training and business development activities related to enclosure projects.
  • Any special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture / Engineering, minimum 5 years of experience in a related positions including previous project management experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working with enclosure systems.
  • Professional registrations or certifications such as RA, LEED AP or other related certifications preferred.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting at least 30 pounds and climbing ladders
  • Willingness and ability to travel at a regular frequency.

Marketing Intern
Hauppauge, NY

HEA seeks an aspiring Marketing/Business undergrad to join its mid-sized, creative and dynamic engineering firm as a paid Marketing Intern. This part-time position will support the development of the company’s marketing and communication materials. This position will work closely with others in the Marketing Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of new firm templates
  • Update marketing resources, including project qualifications, staff resumes, firm profiles, references, and forms and statements for proposals
  • Proposal production and pitch support activities, as necessary
  • Develop and produce content for the firm’s social media
  • Conduct market and competitive research for new project developments and competitor analysis

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Manage multiple assignments at once

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Candidates should be enrolled in an undergraduate program and have an interest in Marketing. Candidate should be able to handle quick-turnaround requests in a fast-paced work environment.
