Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager
New York, NY; Lower Hudson Valley, NY

The Senior Engineer will directly be responsible to meet target billable hours as defined by annual operating plan and Director of Engineering. In addition, the individual will focus on providing technical oversight and support to all team within the region.   

In detail, responsibilities are the following:

Essential Functions:

  • Engineering Mentorship / Leadership
    • Provide leadership and support, as assigned, to support the growth and development of other engineering staff members.
    • Participate in company training and safety initiatives.
  • Client Maintenance / Quality Assurance
    • Involved in high-level client maintenance to provide assurance to all existing clients that the quality of the services delivered are closely examined and under scrutiny. 
    • Working with executive management, directors, team leaders/engineering managers to develop and ensure standards are developed and maintained, specifically in the areas of quality assurance and training.
  • Revenue Generating Activities
    • Support company revenue targets by leading or supporting existing projects as assigned.
    • Project assignments will be based on areas of expertise, relationship with the client and other strategic client initiatives.
    • Must be capable of billing 390 hours a quarter
  • Business Development
    • Support company sales initiatives as requested by the Director of Engineering
    • Lead and / or participate in client and educational presentations, trade shows, etc.
    • Support business plan by initiating and developing new relationships with strategic clients and / or in strategic markets or market sectors.
  • Any special projects as required

Requirements:

  • Masters degree
  • 10+ years Engineering Experience
  • P.E., LEED AP, or CCP a plus

Senior Project Engineer
New York, NY; Pennsylvania/Ohio; Baltimore, MD

A Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of multiple projects and resources by performing building commissioning and consulting for high-rise building projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for managing, scheduling and budgeting assigned projects. • Inform other project engineers and senior project engineers regarding staff scheduling. • Provide weekly task lists to engineering manager for inclusion in weekly work plan. • Executing and managing commissioning tasks within time budgeted. • Maintain relations with existing clients on assigned projects. • Support the engineering manager in the training and mentoring of team members on proper documentation development, field procedures and equipment usage.

Project Engineer

A Project Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of multiple projects and resources.  Responsibilities include the design, construction, operations and maintenance or commissioning of over 100,000 square feet of projects.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for managing, scheduling and budgeting assigned projects.
  • Provide weekly task lists to engineering manager for inclusion in weekly work plan.

Building Enclosure Field or Project Engineer
New York, NY

Responsibilities

BECx reviews of construction documents and specifications
Site investigation of existing buildings to analyze building envelope performance and condition
Oversee and review field testing results and prepare testing and field reports for clients
Maintain current understanding of available building envelope standards, materials and products
Maintain existing clients and develop new clients who are using our building envelope commissioning services
Provide leadership for direction and growth of the building envelope services

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

BA degree in Architecture or a BS degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical or Structural Engineering
Three to five years of relevant building facilities consulting experience

Field Engineer
New York, NY; North Carolina; Pennsylvania; St. Louis, MO

A Field Engineer is responsible for the delivery and execution of our professional services tasks. The qualified candidate must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and at least 1 year of professional experience employed in a staff or intern position in the construction industry. The applicant must have general knowledge of most of the following topics: steam management and distribution systems, pumps, fans, motors, fluid dynamics, heat absorbers, chillers, boilers, air ventilation balancing systems, VAV, Fan Design and other optimization techniques. This candidate must be working for their EIT in the near future and any other Certification that comes with the gaining experience. Trade association participation a plus.

Senior Proposal Coordinator
Long Island, NY

The Senior Proposal Coordinator reports directly to the Proposal Manager/Marketing Manager of the firm. The Senior Proposal Coordinator must demonstrate a complete understanding of the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process, preferably in the A/E/C industry. The Senior Proposal Coordinator shall be proficient and accurate in producing comprehensive deliverables including the planning, layout, drafting, editing and production of proposals. The individual will lead the proposal efforts for multiple, simultaneous responses and take the lead in assigning responsible parties for deliverables as well as compliance/responsibility matrices.

Essential Functions: • Team-oriented, collaborative, resourceful and positive can-do attitude • Highly organized and can prioritize multiple, simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Develop relationships with the proposal team and other departments to meet dynamic project demands • Manage proposal development and production from RFP receipt to contract award • Proofreading, editing and standardizing of proposal content • Provide overall quality assurance of proposal response/process; ensure Layton's branding, style guides and best practices are adhered to • Lead/assist with interview/presentation preparation and create supporting documents (presentations, boards, hand-outs, etc.) • Coordinate and supervise Proposal Coordinator’s workload and submittal quality; including conducting reviews. • Assist Marketing Manager with maintaining the quality of data inputted into Deltek Vision to ensure its use as an accurate sales reporting tool and the firm’s primary CRM program. • Assist in capturing marketing/business development strategies with the Marketing Manager for proposal offerings. • Any special projects as needed.

Requirements: • 5 to 8 years minimum experience in proposal and presentation planning, layout, drafting proposal content, graphics and editing • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • A high degree of proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and A high degree of proficiency with M.S. Office Suite • Industry knowledge a plus • Highly organized; establish priorities and a course of action for handling multiple tasks • Reliable written and oral communications skills; communicates clearing in writing and uses correct spelling and grammar • Must be experienced in managing and preparing proposals/qualifications; including SF254/255/330s and developing presentations. Work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and demands, demonstrate effective decision-making abilities, ability to work with multiple office locations and influence all levels of the organization towards a common goal.

Assistant Project Coordinator
New York, NY

The Project Coordinator is an integral member of the project team structure performing a range of management tasks which include creating and maintaining multiple systems for tracking projects and associated deliverables. The Project Coordinator works closely with the team leader and interfaces with many different technical and administrative team members organizing the necessary components to initiate, run and conclude major projects.

Responsibilities Include: · Work with team leaders in development and updates to projected workload. · Work with other project coordinators to improve processes associated with standard processes for project management · Maintain project directories and schedules. · Administrator of assigned team purchasing; supplies, tools and equipment as needed for projects; maintain team/departmental budget. · Track project hours, expenses and create monthly invoices to submit to client. · Follow-ups with client/Accounting Department on outstanding receivables. · Review and proof-read project related documents for proper formatting prior to client delivery. · Online Deficiency Database Management; setup new companies, projects and team members; input design document review, construction document review, submittal review and field inspection deficiencies; accurate indexing of project deficiencies for reports. · Maintain team schedules in Outlook calendar. · Coordinate and administer internal Project Kick-off meetings for new projects with the Team Leader · Setup and maintain team projects in the company project management software program · Manage incoming project related documentation (drawings, submittals, bulletins, addendums, ASI’s, RFI’s and other documents). · Maintain assigned team meeting minutes. · Any special projects as needed

Qualifications · Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required. One (1) to three (3) years in a general business environment with project administration/coordination experience · Excellent organization, multi-tasking and time management skills. · Extensive experience managing multiple high-quality deliverables based on tight project schedules. · Strong client/project focus. · Ability to think and communicate strategically. · Flexibility to work with a variety of team members and dynamic project demands. · Strong analytical and problem solving skills. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with peers.
