Meet Glenn Cattell! He is HEA's Regional Director and was recently selected as an Employee of the Month! Here's a quick Q/A with him:
- Please provide a brief background of yourself. I have always had an interest in electronics including, designing and building my own signal generator on a bread board in high school and into recent hobbies of building antennas for Ham radio. This is also probably why I enjoy my job so much. As a commissioning agent, I not only get to identify issues, but I get plenty of opportunities to identify issues, troubleshoot the problems and provide solutions to help the contractors/vendors to provide what the owner needs.
- What is one thing you couldn’t live without? Family is the most important thing and I would hate to have to live without my wife, son and daughter.
- Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why? I have been all over the US, a number of places in Canada and a few places in Mexico. It would be hard to narrow it down to one place. Colorado and Utah are probably the most beautiful, hanging out on the beach in Florida the most relaxing, but Michigan is a great place to live.
- What career lessons have you learned since working for HEA? I have been with HEA for fourteen years and continue to learn all the time. One great thing about working for HEA and being a Cx Agent is getting to work on a lot of different systems and with a lot of great teams. The best thing though is the impact I get to have on people’s lives, whether it is making sure the new hospital systems function correctly or making sure the data center systems are reliable. It is easy to get caught up in the technical details of constructing a building but what is important is why those buildings are built, to serve people.
