Meet Phil Lucas! He is a HEA's Phil Lucas and was recently selected as an Employee of the Month! Here's a quick Q/A with him:
What led you to this career?
I began my career in community development and assisted with commercial, mixed-use, and athletic complex design and construction. I then transitioned into facility and program management. Commissioning has been the perfect blend of these skillsets and experiences.
What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?
I’m working on enhancing my electrical and controls skills each day. I’m also studying for the PMP exam.
What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?
The Michigan Central Station site drew a lot of attention as a symbol of the struggles of Detroit and was nearly demolished years ago. I canvassed community members as part of a grassroots effort to save the site. Ford then purchased the site and has been revolutionary in the revitalization of the area. One of my favorite moments at HEA was walking the site for the first time as an owner’s representative and feeling the pride in what we are about to restore. It is humbling and exciting to be a part of this transformational project.
If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose?
It would be a wild experience trading places with Elon Musk for a day.
