Q/A with James Almodoval, Field Engineer
Employee of the Month: January 2018
If you could vacation anywhere on the planet, where would you go?
If I were able to go anywhere on the planet, it would have to be Mykonos, Greece. The architecture, culture, and scenery is something I’ve recently come to admire.
What is something about you that would surprise people?
I would love to be a part of a 90’s R&B group, kind of like Boyz II Men or New Edition with coordinated dances and melodies. I’m an old soul in a new school body.
Describe your perfect Saturday?
My perfect Saturday would definitely include a brunch to start my day after being able to sleep in (weekends I’m usually awake by 8am). Then afterwards, take my dog Sasha (Siberian Husky) to the beach where she can get rid of all that pinned up energy from being in the house. From there Sasha, my girlfriend, and myself would head over to Starbucks in which we all get cappuccino wasted. Then, to end the evening, a dinner cruise around the statue of liberty and up the Hudson. To my surprise, the boat is actually a modern day DeLorean in which we go back to the Y2K era and party like its 1999.
What is something you would like to learn to do?
I have always been one to dance. I would love to learn how to play an instrument of some sort. No the fourth grade mandated recorder does not count in my book. Although I can play a quality Mary had a Little Lamb.
What do you like best about working at HEA?
Best part about working at HEA will have to be the small atmosphere.I constantly get asked why I have not shipped out with the USCG Third Asst. Engineer license. I like to use the analogy of a small fish in a small pond when referring to my role here at HEA. Yes, we are small. It’s the close knit relationships that I can cultivate with my superiors that make it worth the while, as opposed to a bigger company.
