Project Spotlight: Deepdale Gardens

Project Spotlight: Deepdale Gardens

FST – HEA, LLC (HEA) was contracted by Deepdale Gardens to provide an energy audit and develop a compliance pathway for NYC’s LL97 ordinance.  Deepdale Gardens is a self-managed cooperative community located in the Northeast section of Queens. Incorporated in the early 1950s, it was the largest Federally sponsored housing cooperative built in the United States designed as affordable housing for World War II veterans. Deepdale Gardens is situated on sixty (60) acres of land and is comprised of sixty-nine buildings containing 1396 garden style apartments. HEA’s scope of work includes auditing all existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment to develop capital improvement recommendations to reduce the facility's carbon footprint.  HEA will help Deepdale Gardens secure NYSERDA funding to execute the energy audit and help the client source lenders during the implementation phase. The main goal of this project is to educate the tenants and cooperative board regarding LL97 requirements and present a series of options that will suit the tenants' budget and efficiency needs.
